Practical Grape Growing Seminar to talk pesticide use, ‘red blotch’ 

grape growing seminar–The Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area will be addressing two critical topics for grape growers in the June seminar, the fourth seminar of eight-part “Practical Grape Growing” series, on June 21.

While grape growers face many challenges during the crop year, two stand out as high priorities in 2017: pesticide use and laws, and the dreaded “red blotch.” In the fourth of an eight-part seminar series hosted by the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA), industry experts will address these two timely topics.

Grape growers in and around the Central Coast are invited to attend the seminar on June 21 and learn what steps they can take in the coming months regarding these issues. Attendees who are
Private Applicators or PCA’s can receive one hour of continuing education credit.

“Practical Grape Growing” is a seminar series offered by IGGPRA in 2017 that provides attendees with practical tips and industry knowledge from local experts. All grape growers are invited and encouraged to attend. Registration is free for IGGPRA members and costs $20 per seminar for non-members.

The seminar will be held at Castoro Cellars from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The seminar will cover the following topics:

Speaker: Laura Ramage, San Luis Obispo Ag Commissioner

Testing Analysis Process for Red Blotch

Speaker: Tia Russell, Duarte Nursery QA Manager

Speaker: Paul Crout, Viticulturist at Vineyard Professional Services
