Primus to return to Vina Robles this summer

Tickets go on sale this week– Primus announced the Onward & Upward Tour, a coast-to-coast summer tour that will begin July 5 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles. The tour will feature the band’s new drummer, John Hoffman, and includes support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon on select dates.
Following their recent Sessanta tour with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, Primus will perform in 24 cities across the United States. A VIP and artist presale will begin on Wednesday, March 26 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, March 28 at 10 a.m. local time. John Hoffman was selected as Primus’ new drummer from a pool of more than 6,200 applicants during an open audition. His background and chemistry with band members Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde made him the band’s choice.
Les Claypool commented on Hoffman’s addition to the band and the upcoming tour:

While splitting the drum duties of his first gig with the mighty Danny Carey down in the Dominican Republic, John ‘Hoffer’ Hoffman has launched himself into the Primus world with all guns a-blazin’.
Fresh from their next jaunt around the states with Sessanta Part 2 this spring, Hoffer, Ler, and The Ol’ Colonel will be playing some full-length Primus sets at choice venues across the U.S., dipping into material (mainly at the request of Hoffer) that has not been performed in many years.
