Public invited to view curriculum prior to school board approval
English Language Arts materials now available for public viewing
–The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is conducting a public display of the English Language Arts (ELA) materials for grades K-8. The public display will be held from April 25 – May 6 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the lobby of the district office located at 800 Niblick Road.
The purpose of the public display is to provide the community the opportunity to give input on the recommended materials before submission to the PRJUSD Board of Trustees for adoption.
Wonders/Maravillas is a comprehensive English & Spanish Language Arts program for students in grades K-5. It is composed of research-based print and digital resources that provide support for building strong literacy foundations, accessing complex texts, engaging in collaborative conversations, and writing to sources.
Amplify is an all-digital comprehensive English & Spanish Language Arts program for students in grades 6-8. It is built around core fiction and nonfiction exemplar units and addresses the shifts in close reading, vocabulary, and rigor.
Ready Reading is a program, also for students in grades 6-8, which addresses the Common Core emphasis on close reading of complex, authentic text from a wide range of genres.
The curriculum was chosen by a committee of teachers. The PRJUSD Board of Trustees will be presented with this curriculum at their regular meeting on May 10.
