–Students from Paso Robles High School, along with several community groups, will host a public Town Hall Roundtable with Congressman Carbajal from 5:30-8 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at the Paso Robles High School Performing Arts Center at 801 Niblick Road in Paso Robles.

The roundtable will be open to the public and focus on critical national issues such as the environment, health care, education and social justice.

Admission is free to the public and those interested in attending are encouraged to register through Eventbrite Town Hall Roundtable Meeting with Congressman Carbajal.

Several clubs from PRHS, including the Progressive Club, MEChA and the Black Student Union, are hosting the meeting. Panelists will present high priority topics for Congressman Carbajal. “This is a rare opportunity for the community to hear from local experts as well as Congressman Carbajal himself,” said Jeraly Escamilla, President of the PRHS Progressive Club and one of the event hosts. “As new voters and future leaders, we are looking forward to a productive, open dialogue with Rep. Carbajal,” said Eric Contreras, President of MEChA, another sponsoring club. BSU Club President Niya Williams agreed, saying “I hope we can move forward with proposals to promote social justice.”

The clubs are working with the SLO Grassroots Action Coalition, a county wide organization with 50+ member organizations. “We encourage all county residents who care about the future of our country to attend this ‘Exercise in Democracy’ and be a part of the conversation,” said John Lamb, volunteer with the SLO Grassroots Action Coalition.
