Update: $20,000 reward offered for information about quadruple homicide suspects

– The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department, is announcing that additional patrol deputies and California Highway Patrol Officers will be on duty in an ongoing efforts to assist the King City Police Department in locating the suspects from the quadruple homicide on March 3. Monterey County Sheriff’s Office deputies and California Highway Patrol officers will be visible in the King City Area.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for this act.

Authorities continue to ask the King City community to reach out to us with any information they may have that may be related to this incident. This includes speaking to Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies, California Highway Patrol Officers or King City Police Officers that you may see patrolling city streets and providing information directly to them. Information can also continue to be provided anonymously by utilizing the following contact information:

A prayer vigil in remembrance of the four victims killed was held Thursday at Chalone Peaks Middle School located at 667 Meyer Street in King City.

“I want to thank the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol for their assistance with extra patrols,” King City Police Chief James Hunt stated on Thursday, “Tonight, is a night to honor and reflect on those that lost their lives or were injured during this terrible event. The King City Police Department will be present to stand with our community and ensure that this is a peaceful and safe event for all.”

“We stand with the King City Police Department and South Monterey County residents to try to bring some sense of safety back to our communities. but we also understand that there will always be a hole in our hearts for the loss that we have all suffered,” Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto said.

Quadruple homicide suspect’s vehicle located

– The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, representing the King City Police Department, announced today that the suspect vehicle linked to a quadruple homicide, which occurred on March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.

The vehicle was found in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. Authorities disclosed that the King City Police Department is receiving support from various local and federal law enforcement agencies in the ongoing investigation. No further details concerning the recovery of the vehicle have been disclosed at this time due to the nature of the investigation.

Asked where in South Monterey County, county spokeswoman Maia Carrol and Commander Andres Rosas both declined to say.

Law enforcement officials are urging the community to come forward with any information related to the incident, which resulted in the tragic deaths of four individuals and injuries to seven others, two of whom sustained critical injuries.
