‘Raising of America’ discussion to be hosted Nov. 5

Discussion to ask: are we spending enough where it matters most?Raising of America

– The Paso Robles City Library, in partnership with First 5 San Luis Obispo County Children and Families Commission, the San Luis Obispo County Library, and the Center for Family Strengthening, invites the public to a screening and community discussion of “The Raising of America.” This new documentary seeks to spark a first-ever national conversation about how conditions faced by children during infancy and the early years can alter the developing brain and impact their future mental and physical well-being. It asks: What are the consequences for our nation, and how might we do better?

A public screening and panel discussion will be held in the library on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Conference Room.

The Paso Robles City Library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information on the Library’s downloadable collections, programs, or events go to www.prcity.com/library or call (805) 237-3870.
