Real estate company supports hunger relief with $5,000 for local food bank
According to the food bank, more than 25,000 residents in San Luis Obispo County face food insecurity
– The Sereno 1% For Good Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to the San Luis Obispo Food Bank to support hunger relief efforts in the community. The donation is part of the foundation’s quarterly giving program, which aims to uplift and strengthen local organizations.
According to the food bank, more than 25,000 residents in San Luis Obispo County face food insecurity. The organization provides food to thousands of people each month through a network of over 70 local partners, including food pantries, shelters, and nonprofit groups. The food bank also rescues surplus produce, offers nutrition education, and delivers groceries to homebound seniors.
“We are incredibly grateful to Sereno 1% For Good for their generous $5,000 donation,” said Garrett Olson, Chief Executive Officer of the San Luis Obispo Food Bank. “This support will help us bring fresh, healthy meals to families across San Luis Obispo County, ensuring they have reliable access to food.”
The donation reflects the foundation’s commitment to serving the community, said Lindsey Harn of the Lindsey Harn Group, a partner of the initiative. “No one should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, and we are honored to contribute to an organization dedicated to meeting this essential need,” Harn said.
The food bank’s efforts go beyond food distribution, aiming to create programs that promote healthier and more connected communities. The Sereno 1% For Good initiative, which began in 2012, has donated more than $6 million to 510 organizations across the region.
