Recreation Services to hold summer registration events, swim assessments
Annual Super Summer Sign-Up Party will take place on May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Centennial Park
– Paso Robles Recreation Services will begin the summer season with two community events at Centennial Park, located at 600 Nickerson Drive, on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10.
On May 9, city aquatics staff will hold a Swim Assessment and Scholarship Application Day at Centennial Pool from 4 to 7 p.m. The free event will provide swim assessments to help parents choose the appropriate summer aquatic class for their child or teen. Families will also have the chance to apply for need-based scholarships and participate in lawn games and opportunity drawings. Each child who completes an assessment will receive a free public swim pass for summer use.
The annual Super Summer Sign-Up Party will take place on May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Centennial Park. In-person registration for swim lessons begins at 9 a.m. Families who need translation services or assistance with registration are encouraged to attend for support from Recreation Services staff.
For the first time, families may register for swim lessons online on the same day as the in-person event. Online registration will begin at 10 a.m. on May 10 at www.prcity.com/recreationonline. Customers are encouraged to access their Active Net accounts ahead of time to prepare for registration. Phone assistance will not be available on May 10, and messages received will be returned during the week of May 12.
Parents can prepare for registration day by reviewing the city’s aquatics program flyer, which lists all summer aquatic programs, at www.prcity.com/aquatics. Families seeking to use funds from the Recreation Services need-based scholarship program for swim lesson registration must have an approved application on file with the city before May 10. Scholarship information and applications are available at www.prcity.com/recreation.
Registration for all other summer camps and classes is currently open online at www.prcity.com/recreationonline or in-person at the Centennial Park registration desk, which is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. Camps and classes for youth and teens include technology, art, crafts, STEAM, cooking, dance, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and karate.
