El Mexicano is recognized for blending cumbia, banda, and norteño influences. Their songs include “Ramito de Violetas” and “Feliz, Feliz.” Arkangel R-15 gained popularity in the 1990s with songs such as “Bailame Suavito” and “La Quebradita.”
Ezequiel Peña Jr., son of singer and charro Ezequiel Peña, leads his band Su Vallarta in performances that merge traditional Mexican style with modern technobanda.
The California Mid-State Fair runs July 16 through July 27. This year’s theme is “Off to the Races!”
