Re/Max’s ‘Up With Kids’ benefits 100 young students

Re/Max Parkside Realtors gave kids balloon rides on Saturday morning.
Re/Max Parkside Realtors provided more than 100 students with more than $100 each in school clothing, shoes, a backpack and school supplies at Target early Saturday morning. Each student also got a ride in a Re/Max hot air balloon.

Up With Kids committee member Darryl Stolz stands with a child after he goes shopping after a past event.
This year for the first time, each student’s family received a bag of groceries.
Re/Max started the program called “Up With Kids” 14 years ago. Now, many other groups help. Agents with Re/Max donated $13,000 to buy clothing and school supplies for the students. The agents and other volunteers went with the students as “shoperones” to help them select clothing and supplies.
One student said, “This is the best day of my entire life.”
Elissa Williams said this year was their best event. She says the intent is to give disadvantaged students a leg-up on their return to school.
So proud of Team RE/MAX and their partners with this event! Gratitude and Service = Love
It was a feel good morning:}
I remember my first year of teaching. I had a student miss the first week. When he finally came he said he couldn't come to school cuz he didn't have any shoes! That has always stuck with me. So it's an honor being involved with this event. Way to go ReMax
Thanks Re/Maxfor giving our family help. My kids were so excited and happy and my husband and I are relieved because we didn't know where or how we would get the kid's school needs met this year! We are so grateful for your caring about families like ours.
It was a wonderful event in which to volunteer, many many thanks to the generous sponsors and donors for supporting the kids in our communities!
