Report: Former Paso Robles clerk appointed city clerk of Camarillo
– The Camarillo Acorn reports –
Kristy Buxkemper set to start March 7.
– After the recent retirement of longtime Camarillo City Clerk Jeffrie Madland, city officials launched a nationwide search for a replacement. Camarillo City Manager Greg Ramirez selected Kristy Buxkemper out of six finalists, and the Camarillo City Council ratified his decision on Feb. 23. Buxkemper previously served as deputy city clerk in Paso Robles, and has been city clerk of Port Hueneme since 2019, when she moved to Camarillo.
“I, quite frankly, was a little shocked,” Buxkemper said. “I know the quality of Ventura County city clerks, and the bar that the previous city clerk set was very high.”
City officials set Buxkemper’s pay at $140,000. She’s set to start March 7. Buxkemper grew up in Wrightwood and earned a degree at the University of Redlands before attending graduate school at Cal State Northridge.
