Rural residents are asked to be on the alert and report suspicious activity

In light of the increase in recent commercial burglaries in the rural areas of San Luis Obispo County, the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office is requesting that residents in these areas be on high alert for any suspicious activity and to report these incidents.

The county’s rural crime unit is asking that extra measures be taken to secure your property:

• Make sure you file the serial numbers for your property in a safe location
• Consider installing motion sensor lighting, an audible alarm and digital security cameras
• Secure your property in a locked shed if possible
