San Luis Ambulance celebrates 80 years with lifesaving donations
Emergency responders donate 80 defibrillators to sites across San Luis Obispo County
– San Luis Ambulance is celebrating 80 years of emergency medical service on the Central Coast with a donation of 80 automated external defibrillators to locations across San Luis Obispo County.
The privately owned company, founded in 1945, has grown from a small family-run operation into a provider of emergency medical services throughout the region. San Luis Ambulance remains owned and operated by the Kelton family and continues to invest in new technology, staff training, and advanced medical tools to enhance patient care.
To mark its anniversary, San Luis Ambulance will distribute 80 defibrillators to locations including grocery stores, health clubs, and shopping centers. The devices are intended to assist in cardiac emergencies by providing early CPR and defibrillation, which can increase survival rates.
San Luis Ambulance also participates in public health education and local safety initiatives as part of its ongoing efforts to improve emergency response and healthcare access in the community.
