San Luis Obispo Council of Governments announces public workshops

    – The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments will hold six community workshops in September and October to gather public input on the Local Roads First transportation initiative, a measure that could be placed on the November 2026 ballot.

Two workshops will take place in San Luis Obispo, and one will be held online. The sessions will give residents the opportunity to meet with SLOCOG staff, learn about local transportation funding needs, and share their views on priority projects.

The workshops scheduled in San Luis Obispo are Sept. 27 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Public Library, 995 Palm St., and Oct. 8 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Julian A. McPhee University Union, Room 220, California Polytechnic State University, 1 Grand Ave.

An online workshop will be held Oct. 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. The webinar link is bit.ly/slo-localroads, with Meeting ID 828 5613 8033.

SLOCOG is a countywide planning agency that includes representatives from San Luis Obispo County and the seven incorporated cities: Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Grover Beach, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach, and San Luis Obispo. The agency serves as the region’s transportation planning authority, allocating state and federal funds and developing long-term planning strategies.

Details about all six workshops are available at localroadsfirst.com
