San Luis Obispo deputies seize suspected drugs, arrest three people

Traffic stop leads to struggle, arrests

    – A San Luis Obispo Police officer on patrol observed a car with expired registration traveling on Los Osos Valley Road at Madonna Road at 2:49 a.m. on May 26. The officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver, Micah Ayhens. A records check of Ayhens indicated that his driver’s license was expired and that he was on active bench probation with search terms, meaning if stopped by law enforcement, he must submit to a search of his property and person.

The officer ordered Ayhens out of the vehicle several times, but he refused. A sergeant attempted to unlock the door through a partially opened rear window when the passenger in the back seat, Rickter Marr, grabbed the sergeant’s arm in an attempt to interfere. Another officer took hold of the driver’s side window, broke it off and unlocked the door. After a short struggle with Ayhens and Marr, officers took them into custody. Officers also took the front passenger, Kiona Zamora, into custody.

Officers located an unlocked lock box on the floor of the front passenger side of the car. Inside the box were suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, a digital scale, and a large quantity of small plastic bags commonly used to package narcotics. Officers also found several small bags of suspected fentanyl on the floorboards, door panel, and front seats of the car.

Ayhens was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance for sales, felony transportation of a controlled substance, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and misdemeanor expired or unlicensed driver.

Marr was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, felony transportation of a controlled substance, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and misdemeanor public intoxication.

Zamora was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance for sale and felony transportation of a controlled substance.

This case is under active investigation.
