San Luis Obispo SUV crash leaves two children seriously injured
All individuals involved are reported to be in stable condition
– A rollover collision occurred on Saturday at approximately 6:16 p.m. at the intersection of S. Higuera and Suburban Road. San Luis Obispo Police officers and the San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded to the two-car crash involving an SUV and a truck.
According to police, the SUV was traveling northbound on S. Higuera when it ran a red light and was struck by a truck turning left from Suburban onto S. Higuera. The collision caused the SUV to roll over. The driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old male from Grover Beach, and a juvenile front passenger sustained minor injuries. Two children in the backseat of the SUV suffered serious injuries.
The driver, front passenger, and one of the children were transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the other child was flown to a children’s hospital for specialized care. All individuals involved are reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the truck was not injured. Both drivers are cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have contributed to the collision.
