Concerts include optional guided movement for seniors

    – The San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra and the City of San Luis Obispo will present a series of free “Movement to Music” concerts in 2026.

The concerts are designed to encourage participation from seniors and are open to the general public. Each event will include an optional guided light movement led by a professional physical therapist in coordination with musicians. Performances will feature small ensembles from the San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra performing a mix of classic selections, easy-listening music, swing, ballroom, and Latin music.

The first concert will take place on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Senior Center, located at 1445 Santa Rosa St. in San Luis Obispo. A second concert will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the same location.

A third concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Atascadero United Methodist Church, located at 11605 El Camino Real in Atascadero.

The concerts do not require tickets, and attendees may arrive at the scheduled start time. Additional information about the San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra and the Movement to Music program is available at slowinds.org.
