San Miguel Community Services District elects new officers, makes committee 

San Miguel Community Service DistrictSan Miguel Community Services District Board of Directors announced its new officers for 2017 term. Director Anthony Kalvans was elected to serve as incoming board president and director Larry Reuck was selected to serve as vice-president.

Standing committee appointments were also made for board members to serve on organization & personnel, finance & budget and equipment & facilities. Board president Kalvans made these appointments with voting consent of all board members.

Directors John Green and Joe Parent were appointed to Organization & Personnel Committee with Director Reuck as an alternate member. This committee is responsible for oversight of district operational and personnel needs as well as policy changes to comply with state and federal laws.

Directors Buckman and Reuck were appointed to Finance & Budget Committee with the possibility of the board also creating a citizen representative position to this committee or a separate advisory group created by separate board action in January.

This committee is charged with fiscal oversight and financial policy development to ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements on financial matters.

Directors Parent & Reuck were appointed to serve on Equipment & Facilities Committee. This committee will be very active this year studying a potential wastewater treatment plant expansion. Committee is also responsible for annual reviews of district equipment and facility needs.

Board also appointed two directors to serve on the Ad Hoc Committee. Directors Green & Kalvans will serve on this committee for 2017 term. This committee is active in dealing with voluntary conservation measures and related groundwater issues.
