San Miguel teen killed in car accident 


–19-year-old San Miguel resident Sean Schultz was traveling in a silver BMW Northbound on Ranchita Canyon Road from Nickel Creek Road at a high rate of speed on Friday, when, due to possible alcoholic intoxication, he allowed his vehicle to veer into the opposing lane, according to California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle veered off the roadway, through a fence and into a deep dry riverbed 30 feet below. The collision ejected Schultz who was unrestrained causing fatal injuries. 18-year-old passenger Austin Althof received minor injuries and was taken to Sierra Vista Medical Center.

This collision is currently under investigation by the CHP, no further information is available at this time.
