How To Saturday returns to the library this weekend

– On Saturday, Jan. 7 Paso Robles Recreation Services will partner with the City Library to celebrate the joy of learning during How To Saturday, a free all-ages community event from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles City Library. The event will feature over a dozen mini-classes including topics such as cartooning, cooking, using Google Docs and how to do Zumba or yoga (and many more topics in-between) with demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities taught by Paso Robles Recreation instructors. “Libraries serve the community by providing the resources necessary to ignite that spark of learning, leading to the opportunity for growth and self-improvement. Chef Veronica Rains is one of thirteen instructors who will offer a mini-class at the Paso Robles Library on Saturday, January 7 during the How To Saturday event.  Rains, who is a graduate of the prestigious California Culinary Academy of San Francisco an co-founder of the international Gluten Free and Vegan food company Wholesome Chow has been teaching culinary arts professionally since 2003.  Participants will watch as Chef Veronica prepares a delicious chopped salad while demonstrating basic culinary knife skills.

The instructors and classes featured during How To Saturday represent classes being offered this winter and spring through Paso Robles Recreation Services. Registration for these classes will be available at the Library on Saturday, Jan. 7. The winter/spring Activity Guide which lists activities and classes offered through Library and Recreation services was mailed to Paso Robles residents in mid-December. Activity Guides are also available at the Paso Robles City Library, City Hall, the Centennial Park Recreation Office and many businesses throughout the city. The Activity Guide can be accessed online at www.prcity.com/recreation.

During the How To Saturday event, the Friends of the Library will be hosting a book sale in front of the library near 11th Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
