School board to make decision on superintendent

superintendent candidates paso robles–The Paso Robles School Board narrows to one its search for a new superintendent, but they’re not identifying the lone finalist. They are reportedly negotiating a contract with one of the two finalists.

The two finalists are Dr. Curt DuBost, currently Superintendent of the San Miguel School District. DuBost previously served as Superintendent of the Templeton School District. DuBost is a Stanford graduate with long ties to the North County. His family settled in the Paso Robles area in the 1880’s. He told those who attended a “Meet the Superintendent Candidates” event last week that he wanted to “help his hometown.”

Bill Young is Deputy Superintendent with the Natomas School District in Sacramento. He has extensive experience as a teacher, teamster, principal and administrator with the school district. At the candidates forum held last Tuesday night, Young said he’d like to make a home in Paso Robles, which he says reminds him of Loomis, where he grew up in Northern California.

The new superintendent may be announced as early as noontime today.
