School district appoints new district administrator

Doreen Castillo brings 18 years of leadership experience
– Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has appointed Doreen Castillo as director of district data, assessment, and plan alignment.
Castillo joins the district with more than 18 years of administrative experience in educational leadership.
District officials said Castillo has served as a principal at the high school, junior high, and intermediate school levels, as well as within the county office of education system.
The district said Castillo previously received recognition as administrator of the year for her school district and was also named the top administrator in Madera County.
“My primary goal is to support the school sites in developing clear plans aligned with the district to improve student achievement,” Castillo said. “My strength is building relationships and coming alongside colleagues to reach those goals.”
In her new role, Castillo will oversee district data systems, student assessments, and the alignment of educational plans within the district.
“We are thrilled to welcome an administrator of Doreen’s caliber to our leadership team,” said Erin Haley, assistant superintendent. “Her extensive background, proven track record of excellence, and deeply collaborative philosophy will be invaluable as we work together to support student achievement.”
Paso Robles Joint Unified School District serves more than 6,400 students across northern San Luis Obispo County.
