School district hires athletic director, physical education teacher 

–The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has brought on two new certificated employees. Anthony Morales, former athletic director at Clovis East High School, will be the new athletic director for Paso Robles High School. Former Templeton High School teacher and Atascadero native Dan Loney will be brought on as a physical education teacher. Tom Harrington, former part-time athletic director, will move to a full-time assistant principal at Paso Robles High School where he can provide instructional support for staff and students.

Anthony Morales was born and raised in Clovis, Calif. He attended Fresno State where he received his bachelors of science degree in business. He has been in public education for 27 years and has dedicated himself to coaching for 18 years. During his tenure as coach, he won 13 conference titles, five CIF titles, and one CIF State Championship in wrestling. Morales most recently worked as the athletic director at Clovis East High School for the past nine years and is very involved in the CIF. He serves on the CIF state committees for cross country, wrestling, swimming/diving, and track/field. He is also the announcer for all major wrestling events in the state of California including the CIF state championships and the NCAA Pac 12 Championships. Morales has one son, Cameron, who is attending Fresno State to become a college math professor.

Dan Loney grew up in Atascadero, graduating from Atascadero High School in 1996. He excelled in many athletic arenas while growing up, most notably as a football player. He continued his education on a full-ride scholarship to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo playing center on the football team. After graduating with a degree in social science, he went on to play for nine years in the Arena Football League for the San Jose Sabercats. After winning three Arena Bowl championships, he began his teaching career at Templeton High School. While there, he coached both track and field and served as the varsity head football coach for five years. Loney currently lives in Atascadero with his wife, Tori, and their three boys, Clayton, Cole and Cade.
