School district names Angelica Del Giorgio ‘Rookie of the Year’

– Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has named Angelica Del Giorgio, a sixth-grade teacher at Kermit King, Rookie of the Year.
According to a statement from the school, Del Giorgio has made a strong impression during her first year in the classroom. “Angelica has been a great part of the 6th grade team at Kermit King. Although it is her first year, she is willing to help other teachers and isn’t afraid to be a part of the action,” the statement read.
School officials noted Del Giorgio’s connection with students, many of whom choose to spend their free time with her. “All the students enjoy working with her and many stay in her class during lunch and nutrition to just hang out with her,” the statement continued.
Del Giorgio’s contributions to the school community began before she became a full-time teacher. “Angelica has been such an asset to the PRJUSD community even before her first year teaching,” the statement said. “She has been subbing for the district for two years and has been collaborating with her colleagues before she even received her position as a full-time teacher.”
The school also noted her commitment to student advocacy and teamwork. “She advocates for her students and collaborates well with all of her colleagues, both across grade levels and subjects,” the statement said.
