School district welcomes new director of student services

Leonor Buza has more than 25 years of experience in education
– Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has appointed Leonor Buza as its new director of student services.
Buza brings more than 25 years of experience in education to the district. She most recently served in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she held several leadership roles centered on student well-being and achievement. Her responsibilities included oversight of more than 20 schools, as well as leading initiatives in staff training, student discipline, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, and school safety planning.
Superintendent Jennifer Loftus said, “We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Buza to Paso Robles. Her experience and passion for student success will be instrumental in strengthening our student services programs and supporting the diverse needs of our school community.”
Throughout her career, Buza has focused on equity, inclusion, and community engagement. Her background aligns with the district’s goal to foster safe and supportive learning environments for all students.
Buza said she looks forward to working with students, families, and staff to enhance educational experiences throughout the district.
What is she getting paid, and why does the school need her? How about this; eliminate that position and put that money towards classroom teacher wages. They are the workers who deserve the money. Not some high paid know-it-all (diversity, inclusion, whatever). Just my thoughts?
This is a shocker! Another overpaid administrator to add to the already over staffed administration when teachers and para educators are being laid off? This position could fund 2-3 teaching positions or 3/4 teacher’s aides. Not realistic and poor use of our money. We need a more fiscally responsible superintendent.
Of course, you know best don’t you.
The addition of these high paid administrative jobs is why schools keep screaming for money. In class teachers is what we need to preserve. They need much higher salaries to buy homes and stay teaching in our communities. Your socialistic outlook is why California is broke.
I’m not sorry, Californians should be angry for having failing schools, roads, water storage etc. Socialism governing doesn’t work in America. Just take a look around any city in our state and see for yourself what this type of governing results in.
