Sculpterra to host Hassan El-Tayyab, Mary Scholz

–Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon, 1-4 p.m. at Sculpterra Winery. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing four-song sets. The concerts are brought to the venue by Songwriters at Play. The concerts are free; they pass the tip jar during the featured set. All ages are welcome.

Sunday, Nov. 22- Hassan El-Tayyab
Hassan El-Tayyab is the leader of American Nomad, an award winning Bay Area acoustic group. They were honored for best vocal performance in the 2013 Berkeley Old Time Music Competition, as a finalist in the 2011 International songwriting competition, and were recognized in the 2013 and 2011 Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Competition.

Sunday, Nov. 29-Mary Scholz
Singing since the age of four and writing since she was 14, Scholz’ music is a blend of lyric folk & pop-rock with, “a bittersweet twist.” Scholz is frequently compared to Carole King, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, and Amy Grant. Mary has spent the past eight years touring the country, performing at coffee shops, music venues, & large festivals. She spent these tours promoting her three independently produced and released EPs and Live Album, all released on her own indie record label, Ringlet Records. In 2014 Mary released her first full-length album, The Girl You Thought You Knew.
