Service honored at Faces of Freedom Memorial 

Cal Poly ROTC Color Guard awaits Central Coast Pipes and Drums.

–About 2,500 people gathers at Atascadero’s Faces of Freedom Memorial for a Veteran’s Day Ceremony, Saturday.

Air Force LTC Ed Cobleigh was the guest spaker. Cobleigh flew 375 missions over Vietnam. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses and the Air Medal. New’s now an author, living in the Paso Robles area.

The Distinguished Veteran honored at the event was 97-year-old Harry Moyer. CPT Moyer is a former fighter pilot with the Army Air Corps. Moyer still flies. He and his son recently flew to The Dalles, Oregon to witness the total solar eclipse there.

Taps was played by County Clerk-Recorder Tommy Gong and his sons, Derek and Darin.

Atascadero Kiwanis hosted a BBQ after the event at Faces of Freedom Memorial.
