    Shandon Rest Area re-opens

    CalTrans

–The Shandon Roadside Rest Area re-opened to the public on Thursday, Nov. 9 by 5 p.m.

This closure which began in September was necessary to resurface the parking areas of this facility and perform roadwork related to the Highway 46 East widening project.

The contractor for this $47 million project to widen Hwy. 46 East from McMillan Canyon Road to Lucy Brown Road in Shandon is Brosamer & Wall of Walnut Creek CA. It is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2018. Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.

For traffic updates on other state highways in San Luis Obispo County, motorists can call Caltrans District 5 Public Affairs at 805-549-3318 or can visit the District 5 website at: dot.ca.gov/dist05/road_information.htm
