Sheriff’s Office kicks off Citizen Academy with jail tour

    – The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office began its Citizen Academy on Aug. 28 with a tour of the SLO County Jail.

Sheriff Ian Parkinson, Undersheriff Tim Nicholson and Captain Landgraf welcomed participants to the first class. Sergeant Willey and members of the Classification Unit then led attendees on a behind-the-scenes look at jail operations, including housing and daily functions.

The academy will continue in the coming weeks as community members learn about the various divisions and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office.
