‘Shop Small Saturday’ happening Nov. 24

Submitted by the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association

–Paso Robles, California, is a truly beautiful and vibrant region. And the sensational downtown offers a concentration of businesses. It was these types of communities that American Express sought to promote when they began the Small Business Saturday consumer campaign in 2010. Now hundreds of communities maintain the momentum featuring #ShopSmall and #SmallBusinessSaturday annual campaign maintaining the branding “SmallBusinessSaturday” promotions around the Thanksgiving Holiday. As consumers are drawn to big box store Black Friday and Cyber shopping the following Monday, organizers of Paso Robles November promotion feel that nothing beats the feel and focus to showcase what appeals to customers: a roll out of special gifts, good prices, and deals.

Win a shopping spree by entering the Bingo Contest

The Paso Robles Main Street Association will distribute Holiday Songbooks which include the Downtown Bingo Game. Get all your gift tags stamped at participating store to enter for a $450, a $225, and a $100-shopping spree just before the holidays. (Songbooks available at the Downtown Lighting Ceremony on Friday evening, Nov. 23 in the City Park or by stopping by the Paso Robles Main Street office at 835 12th St., Suite D (in the alley). Call (805) 238-4103.

Enjoy a weekend of shopping, dining, wine tasting including special discounts, downtown events (music, Football and demonstrations) and in-store features like samples and book-signing. Aligning businesses across a spectrum of services, regular customers and visitors can expect a full day and evening.

The wine industry has emerged as a new wave of pioneers in Paso Robles. The Downtown Wine Association is diverse and growing and relies on a synergy with shopping, dining, entertainment and other services around Paso Robles’ friendly and historic downtown district.

“Our pedestrian-friendly community encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the Paso Robles downtown park and street-side businesses as well as venture to outlying areas from Railroad to Riverside walk,” says Norma Moye, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association. “We have assets in this community that come together as an ideal destination for planned and spontaneous travel. It features a full array of resources and excursions for destination gatherings, getaways and Central California day- trips. The #ShopSmall campaign appeals to locals by giving access to unique gifts, local art, fashionable attire, vibrant dining and spirits, movies, picnics and play, amidst the small town hospitality.

“Paso Robles’ small businesses are champions of community translating to thousands of dollars in charitable giving for education, diversity, community outreach and enrichment programs. In current time where technology and artificial intelligence are advancing quickly, the motivation of #ShopSmall #SmallBusinessSaturday personalizes the power of customer service, good will and creativity of small business owners. Expect the businesses to celebrate with pride the banner of #ShopSmall.”

For all these reasons and more the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association joined forces with Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations to reinforce and actively promote a collective event on Nov. 24 and through the Thanksgiving Holiday. Contact organizers for an up-to-date schedule and summary of discounts, special gifts, purchase thresholds and links to charitable giving.
