SLO County Golden Retrievers group set to break Guinness World Record

The SLO County Golden Retrievers group will attempt to break that record on July 14 in celebration and a tribute to all dogs immediately following their annual Goldens in the Park event.

–In April of this year a world record was set for the ‘largest dog photo shoot’ according to Guinness World Records. The SLO County Golden Retrievers group will attempt to break that record on July 14 in celebration and a tribute to all dogs immediately following their annual Goldens in the Park event. Each year, SLO County Goldens Retriever holds an event to celebrate Goldens (and all other dogs) to raise money for the nonprofit group and a featured nonprofit – this year, Hospice of SLO County Pet Peace of Mind Program.

The event features games, raffles, vendor and information booths, food, and entertaining contests, all in the name of dogs. The event is free, open to the public and who are welcome to bring their dog/s and enjoy the day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Laguna Lake Park located at 498 Madonna Road, SLO. Immediately after the event around 2:30 they will begin gathering at the south side of the park, registering dogs and their humans, taking individual photos of all dogs and the finale, a group photo to submit to Guinness World Records. They only need to break the record of 108 dogs. The goal is 200!

SLO Goldens is inviting the public to bring their dogs and help raise money for this year’s benefactors, as well as sign up for and participate in the world’s ‘largest dog photo shoot’. Sign-up forms are available on the Goldens website at www.slocountygoldenretrievers.com and will be available at the event.
