SLO County resident enlists in Army National Guard as infantryman 

–San Luis Obispo County resident Trevor Butler, 23, on Feb. 19 enlisted in the California Army National Guard.

Butler was born in Visalia, Calif., and was raised in Los Osos. He currently works in construction throughout SLO County. He is an avid runner and is looking forward to his military training, says recruiter Staff Sergeant Leo Castillo.

“Trevor is looking forward to pushing himself to the limits mentally and physically as an 11 Bravo Infantryman and is proud to serve his country, state, and community,” Castillo says. “He has the support of his wonderful parents Jason Butler and Amanda Valena.”

Butler will be doing his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
