SLO Farmers’ Market hosting Veterans’ Day celebration 

–This Thursday, Nov. 8 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market is pleased to host the 10th annual Veterans Day Celebration, Cal Poly Farm City Nights, and a performance by Cal Poly Athletics as part of a full evening of activation at the market. These events are free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

The Veterans Day celebration will take place on Chorro Street between Higuera and Monterey and will feature speakers, live music, and more. A procession through The Market with Grizzly Youth Academy, Cal Poly ROTC, and Central Coast Pipe and Drum will begin at the intersection of Nipomo and Higuera and end at the intersection of Chorro and Higuera. Grizzly Youth Academy will do a presentation of the color and sing the National Anthem. Live music will be provided by Crisptones Band starting at 7:30 p.m. Organizations related to veteran’s services will have booths throughout The Market. Attendees can share the event via Facebook.

Cal Poly Farm City Nights will take place at the intersection of Broad and Higuera streets and will showcase 16 agricultural-related clubs at Cal Poly, including Nutrition Club, AgLeadership Society, Young Cattlemen’s Committee, Crops Club, Tractor Pull, and many more. 

Cal Poly Athletics will be performing at Morro and Higuera streets and will feature music from the Cal Poly band, cheer and dance teams, and booths from various groups on campus.
