    SLO Film Center to host ‘Haunting Party’ Oct. 1 

    SLO Film Center to host 'Haunting Party' Oct. 1

    – The SLO Film Center will host its second annual Haunting Party on Oct. 1 at the Palm Theatre in San Luis Obispo. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

    Attendees are invited to wear costumes and navigate the decorated hallways of the theater. The event will include food, drinks, activities, and live music from Ghost/Monster, a local alt-rock duo. All three theaters at the Palm Theatre will be part of the event.

    Tickets cost $15, with discounts available for Palmie members. More information and ticket purchases are available at thepalmtheatre.com.

    The SLO Film Center will also host a series of thriller and horror films in October. Scheduled films include Scream, Hellraiser, Night of the Creeps, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Bride of Frankenstein. The schedule also includes family-friendly films.     The SLO Film Center also presents the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. This year, the festival is launching a special award for Best Genre/Horror Film. Submissions are open through the end of November at filmfreeway.com/slofilmfest. More information about the festival can be found at slofilmfest.org.

    The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival will celebrate its 32nd edition April 23-28, 2026. The six-day event will showcase works from around the world at venues including the Fremont Theater and the Palm Theatre. The festival is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences qualifying festival in the category of Best Documentary Short.
