CHP releases identity of man killed in fatal crash
The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal roll-over collision that happened near Paso Robles on Monday as 24-year-old Daniel E. McCornack Jr. of San Luis Obispo.
CHP reported that McCornack was driving his 2011 Honda south on Willow Creek at approximately 8:20 p.m on Monday evening when his left tire left the roadway for an unknown reason. He then turned his vehicle to the right towards the right hand shoulder, and the right hand bumper collided with a tree on the right hand shoulder of the road. His vehicle flipped over as a result of the collision, spun around and came to rest on it’s right side, the CHP reported.
The investigation into the cause of the crash in ongoing. Officers say they have not ruled out alcohol or drug impairment as contributing factors to the crash.
