Update: Weapon, drug charges filed against gym owner in hidden camera case

Update posted Sept. 15, 2023:

Police capture wanted criminal in San Luis Obispo

– On Wednesday, detectives from the San Luis Obispo Police Department served a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of Bayview in Morro Bay. The search warrant was obtained as part of the investigation into the video camera found in the bathroom of CCC Fitness in late August.

During the search of the Morro Bay home occupied by 35-year-old Cole Corrigan, detectives found a non-serialized handgun, commonly referred to as a ghost gun. Corrigan has a prior felony, drug-related conviction which makes him a prohibited person from possessing a firearm or ammunition. Also found during the search was a misdemeanor quantity of a controlled substance.
Corrigan was present during the service of the search warrant and was placed under arrest.  He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail for the following charges:
  • PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Firearm – Felony
  • PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition – Felony
  • PC 24610 – Possession of Undetectable Firearm (Ghost Gun) – Misdemeanor
  • HS 11377(a)(1) – Possession of Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
The investigation into the hidden video camera at CCC Fitness is ongoing and charges related to that investigation have not yet been sent to the San Luis Obispo District Attorney, according to SLOPD.
