SLO Symphony May concert to feature Tchaikovsky, Mozart
Concert happening Saturday, May 14 in Harold Miossi Hall at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo
– San Luis Obispo Symphony continues its 60th anniversary season with music by Tchaikovsky and Mozart at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 in Harold Miossi Hall at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo. French virtuoso violinist Gilles Apap (Arroyo Grande) joins SLO Symphony under the baton of Maestro Andrew Sewell, for a program of classical favorites, including Brahms’ Serenade No. 1 in D, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G Minor.
Gilles is known for his unique approach to music, delivering distinctive performances of the standard classical repertoire combined with genres such as jazz and folk from around the world, merging the borderlines between musical styles. Ticket holders are invited to attend a pre-concert Symphonic Foray talk with Music Director Andrew Sewell and select musicians at 6:30 p.m. A free “No Ties Allowed” open dress rehearsal and interactive instrument petting zoo, suitable for all ages of attendees will take place at 11 a.m.
