SLO Ultra to host California State Trail Marathon Championship
—The SLO Ultra, produced by the Central Coast’s endurance sports leader Race SLO, has been selected by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) to host the 2018 RRCA California State Trail Marathon Championship on Saturday, Sept. 1. The third annual SLO Ultra Trail Race & Mountain Bike Race, scheduled for Sept. 1-2, 2018, will be held in conjunction with the sixth annual US Trail Running Conference, sponsored by The City of San Luis Obispo, from Aug. 29-31.

Without a doubt, this statewide race championship is the cherry on top of our week long SLO Ultra sundae full of events. The RRCA Championship Event Series, ranging from the mile to ultra distance as well as cross country races, are the largest grassroots organized running race series in the United States, annually attracting more than 320,000 runners. Since 1958, the RRCA has awarded championship events at the National, Regional and State level to outstanding RRCA member clubs and quality events to promote the sport of distance running.
