Softec launches women in technology interest group

Women in technology
– San Luis Obispo County tech organization Softec is launching a women in technology interest group.

“The February dinner we held had an amazing turnout and it became obvious that women are looking for opportunities to connect and network in an environment focused on their needs and schedules,” said Softec President Joshua Erdman.

The group is starting with a regularly held breakfast meeting, starting at 8 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Whole Foods in San Luis Obispo. They are working on plans to start a monthly lunch meeting as well before year’s end.

“I love living in this area and am very excited to be working with Softec to get an interest group focused on women.” stated Becki Walker, a local business consultant in San Luis Obispo. “Most business events do not take into account school schedules or families where both spouses are working. My hope is that this group helps fill in this gap and provide women in our varied tech community with an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with each other.”
