State of San Luis Obispo presentation happening Thursday
—San Luis Obispo Mayor Heidi Harmon and City Manager Derek Johnson invite the public to celebrate “Community Connections” at the 2019 State of the City presentation.
In the last year the city focused on connecting to the community through public-private partnerships with nonprofits, community groups, and volunteers to provide programs and services. A few examples that will be featured in the presentation include:
• Connecting neighbors with improved roadways in Laurel Lane Complete Streets Projects
• Electric vehicle charging stations and hydration stations in the Downtown creating a
cleaner environment and encouraging green practices
• Family-friendly public events connecting the community to the outdoors
The presentation highlights city accomplishments from 2018, financial trends, and upcoming challenges and opportunities in 2019. The presentation is open to the public and will include a question and answer session with Mayor Harmon and City Manager Johnson.
The meeting will be happening Thursday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo City Council Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm Street.
