Drivers headed west on Highway 46 may use a new northbound ramp to transition onto State Route 41 toward the Central Valley and Fresno by exiting right. Drivers continuing east toward Bakersfield will continue straight.

Drivers heading south on State Route 41 from the Central Valley may use new ramps at the interchange to transition to Highway 46, west toward Paso Robles or east toward Bakersfield. Drivers are encouraged to follow all directional signage and message boards as they approach the new interchange.

The new grade-separation interchange enhances traffic flow and improves safety at the regional intersection.

This interchange is part of a larger, phased project to widen Highway 46 East from a two-lane highway to a four-lane expressway, from east of the Shandon Rest Area to east of Davis Road. The first segment of widening began near Paso Robles in 2008. The next phase of widening Highway 46 East is the Antelope Grade, which is expected to begin construction in the spring of 2027.

Road information and updates can also be found on Caltrans District 5 social media accounts on Twitter at @CaltransD5, Facebook at Caltrans Central Coast (District 5) and Instagram and Threads at Caltrans_D5.
