    Steinbeck family hosts water forums

Steinbecks to share reasons they are opposed to measures A and B

–The Steinbeck Family is opening their tasting room to a series of water forums for the public. They are voting “No” on measures A and B and say they would like an opportunity to share the reasons and supporting documentation for their stance.

“To date, meetings being publicized as impartial on the water district vote are completely biased,” said Cindy Steinbeck. “John Diodati, a county employee, is the first speaker at events offered to the public. The county submitted the district formation application and John is their employee — his presentation uses the same talking points as the ‘Yes’ proponents. The meetings we are hosting are biased to the ‘No’ vote!”

The Steinbeck family hosted the first of many “No on Measures A and B” forums Tuesday Feb. 2 at Steinbeck Vineyards. Fifty-five people attended to listen to the Steinbeck family’s perspective and ask questions.

    The one hour forums cover:

    • AB2453 legislation — what are we really voting on?
    • Who will properly manage the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin
    • Why the state will not step in and why a nine member board is not local control
    • Details of the special election happening in Feb. 8 – March 8 2016

The community is invited to forums at the Steinbeck property, located at 5940 Union Road Paso Robles on the following dates:

    • Thursday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.
    • Saturday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m.
    • Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m
    • Thursday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.
    • Saturday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.

Local Blues musician Karen Tyler will be at the forum on Feb. 4 to perform her two original “water” pieces: “The Emperors Stone Soup Swindle” and “Mule Train.”
