Structure fire reported at residence in Paso Robles 

– On Sunday At approximately 7:48 p.m., the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services responded to a residence on Angus Street for a reported trash can fire that had been extinguished by the resident. The initial crew reported heavy smoke coming from attic vents above the garage area and a structure fire response was initiated. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one garage wall and the attic space above the garage, limiting the heat and smoke damage throughout the residence.

The residence was occupied at the time of the fire. No firefighters or community members were injured.

Two fire engines and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. Under the city’s automatic aid agreements, one fire engine and one Battalion Chief from CAL FIRE/SLO County, one fire engine from Templeton Fire and one fire engine from Atascadero Fire immediately responded. A total of 16 firefighters were required to bring the situation under control. Additional assistance was provided by the Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance Service.
The fire was contained at approximately 8:15. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
