Student from Paso Robles earns Emerson College degree
– Anthony Ray Jacobson from Paso Robles, CA, received a BA in media arts production from Emerson College during the college’s 144th Commencement at Agganis Arena in Boston on Sunday, May 12.
Jacobson was among approximately 1,045 undergraduate students who graduated as part of the Class of 2024. The ceremony honored award-winning executives, creators, and Emersonians for their contributions to the arts, communication, and greater humanity.
Randy Barbato, director, producer, and co-founder of World of Wonder, the entertainment company behind the Emmy Award-winning show “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” delivered the commencement address and received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, along with Emerson Trustees Doug Holloway and Al Jaffe.
“I do want you to take the time to discover yourself in the world. Trust the timing in your life. Things will not turn out how you planned,” said Barbato. “It’s experiences that create the opportunities. It’s the experiences that build your endurance and connections with another and remind you to refine your confidence.”
