Studios on the Park showing ‘Common Ground’

–Studios on the Park celebrated Art After Dark Saturday night with a new show, “Common Ground 2019.”

Curator Missy Reitner-Cameron asked artists to share how they respond, engage and heal in 2019.

The show includes works by 39 artists including Tracy Taylor, Dennis Kish, Richard Fusillo and Julie Frankel.

Sasha Irving of Studios says, “Viewers are invited to see how artists are engaging with our current political landscape and representing their beliefs, anxieties and ideals through their strikingly original visions.”

Also, Deprise Brescia joins the artists working and showing art at Studios on the Park. Deprise has been a long-time member of the Paso Robles Art Association. She often showed her abstract paintings in their showroom at the back of Studios. Although she develops most of her art in her “Castle of Creativity” (her garage), Deprise will now be painting as well in the studio she shares with photographer Dean Crawford at Studios on the Park.

Deprise attended Chico State University, where she studied art. She worked as a model and actress in Los Angeles and other locales before returning to Paso Robles to paint full-time. She is the sister of Dr. James Brescia, County Superintendent of Schools.

“Common Ground 2019” will run through Jan. 27.
