Studios on the Park to present exhibition exploring four elements
Public is invited to the opening on July 5 and a reception on Aug. 2
– Studios on the Park will collaborate with Earth Gowns to present “Earth Gowns: Earth, Air, Fire, Water,” an exhibition exploring the four elements. The show will run from July 5 to Aug. 31 in the Atrium Gallery of Studios on the Park.
The collection features 25 unique garments created by 14 textile artists. The artists use hand stitching, eco-dyeing, recycled materials, and natural elements such as sticks, seed pods, and feathers to reflect on the connection to Mother Earth. The gowns honor Earth as home to all life and address challenges faced in the 21st century.
The public is invited to the opening on July 5 and a reception on Aug. 2, both from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Studios on the Park is a nonprofit organization that provides creative, educational, and transformational experiences to enhance understanding and appreciation of visual arts. The organization offers an open studio environment with artists working in various media, educational programs for children and adults, and exhibitions by regional, national,l and international artists. Purchases from the Up Front Gallery support arts programming for children, teens, and adults.
