The championship game featured two Atascadero Babe Ruth teams and ended with the Sun Devils holding off a late challenge from the Beavers.
According to Sun Devils Head Coach Thomas Perry, the game included multiple lead changes before the Sun Devils secured the one-run victory.
The win completed the team’s postseason run and earned the championship title for the 13-16-year-old recreational baseball team.
Perry said the Sun Devils relied on timely hitting, consistent effort, and composure during the championship game.
The coach said the championship was the result of a season built on toughness, teamwork, and confidence among the players.
The Beavers finished as championship runners-up after the 12-11 contest.
