Supervisor candidate creates, ‘video yard signs’

Videos deliver messages on topics such as water, homelessness

–Paso Robles Mayor and Candidate for First District Supervisor Steve Martin has announced the release of “video yard signs.”

“Tis the seasons for signs: big signs, little signs, yard signs. Everyone running for election has to put up signs. Lots of them. How else will voters know who is running? (Well, there are ways…) But Steve Martin, Mayor of Paso Robles and candidate for the 1st Supervisorial District in San Luis Obispo county, has a new idea: Video Yard Signs,” reads his website.

“I know we need physical signs,” said Martin,”and we have them. But I wanted to bring campaigning into the present and offer information that is Internet-based.”

The Video Yard Signs are brief videos linked to Martin’s website that express quickly and succinctly the reasons voters should give him consideration. He says the current offering is just the beginning and he plans to add to the list of video yard signs available at his site.

“I have asked all of my supporters to watch and share these videos,” said Martin. “It’s more personal and informative than just shouting ‘vote for me!’ at the top of your lungs. And additional benefit? I’m not blocking anyone else’s signs with my video yard signs.”

The first district boundaries extend from the Monterey County line to the north, to the Kern County line to the east, it includes the community of Templeton to the south and extends to the mountain range that includes Adelaide and York Mountain to the west. The first district is about 651,000 acres, with a population of approximately 53,860 residents. There is one incorporated city in the district which is Paso Robles.

Councilman John Hamon is also running for the seat, as well as Republican strategist John Peschong and retired Paso Robles attorney Dale Gustin.
