Support the Main Street College Scholarship program

Paso Robles Main Street Association

Take a simple step to give and support local students

–This year has been especially challenging for our high school seniors as they have had to deal with distance learning, less socializing and the question of a graduation ceremony with their peers and family celebrations as they prepare to enter the next chapter of their lives.

Along with the upcoming graduates, it’s been a year like no other for their friends, the teachers, school district administration, and community, but more importantly the families of these kids. Covid has changed the way we approach every day. There is some gratitude, but a lot of work to do. Your gift will help alleviate some of the financial pressure.

In June of 2001, the initial donations to establish the program were made by Country Real Estate, Alice Bickell (of the former Bickell’s Stationery) and George and Millie Finigan. Additional funding came from Wells Fargo Bank, John and June Bertoni, Dave’s Dogs, Edward Jones, The Hobby Horse, Idler’s, Julia’s, Park Cinemas, Sale Realty, Taco Bell, Touch of Paso Restaurant, and many others. Thanks to this generosity and more, many $500 scholarships have been given through the years.

The preferred way to donate is by check payable to Paso Robles Main Street Association and mailed to 835 12th St, Paso Robles, 93446. Credit cards accepted by phone at (805) 238-4103. Cash or check dropped at the office on Norma’s Way between 12th and 13th Street off Pine Street.

A minimum of $25 is requested while any amount more than that will be greatly appreciated. The minimum goal is to give four scholarships at $500 each. The ultimate goal is to give to all 11 students who have submitted applications for scholarships that will be awarded virtually the first week of June and a celebration video distributed later. The deadline for giving is Friday, May 7.
