Surf-inspired film screening event happening at San Luis Obispo brewery

A night of surf-inspired films happening at San Luis Obispo brewery

–The Central Coast State Parks Association will host a second screening of their Get Outside screening series at There Does Not Exist Brewery in San Luis Obispo on March 27. Doors open at 6 p.m., films start at 7.

They will be showing five surf shorts, and serving up some fresh There Does Not Exist beers, food, and warm drinks, available for purchase. A virtual screening option is also available.

The event will include a selection of current features and short films examining surfing as cultural and environmental activism. The event’s film lineup explores some of the ways in which surfing serves as a connection between nature, recreation, and livelihood, with subjects ranging from a look at Cuba’s surf and skate culture to a group of friends embarking on a surfing journey along the California coast. All proceeds from screenings of the Get Outside Film Series fund public outreach and education that celebrate the biodiversity of the Central Coast, where the land meets the ocean, within local state parks.

Per COVID-19 restrictions, masks and 6-foot social distancing will be maintained throughout the screening. There Does Not Exist Brewery will be providing an outdoor venue with safe, socially distanced seating for in-person guests. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from BapJo, a food truck offering Korean-inspired delicacies for in-person attendees.
